The Last Full Moon of My Forties!
Reflecting Light, Reclaiming Dharma!
Dear Friends,
Tonight’s full moon holds a special significance for me—it is the last full moon I will witness as I journey through my 40s. As this luminous orb graces the sky, I feel a profound moment of reflection and transition. Soon, I will enter my Golden Jubilee, a milestone that invites me to pause, look inward, and renew my deepest commitments.
As I stand at this threshold, I wholeheartedly recommit myself to my Dharma—the sacred duty of sharing Viniyoga, a tradition passed down through generations. This is more than a practice; it is a living legacy carried in the hearts and hands of my ancestors. It is their wisdom, their love, and their courage that light my path. Like the full moon, which borrows its radiance from the Sun to shine upon us, I am but a mere reflection of the brilliance of those who came before me—my teachers and elders who have paved the way.
This reflection is a reminder that none of us walk alone. Even when we feel uncertain or unworthy, it is precisely then that God calls us forward. Each of us is chosen for a reason, entrusted with a unique purpose that only we can fulfill. Embracing our Dharma—our true calling—is the most vital commitment we can make in this life.
I encourage you, dear reader, to hold steadfast to your own path. Though challenges arise and doubts whisper, remember: your presence here is no accident. Your Dharma awaits your faithful dedication, and through it, the light of many lives—past, present, and future—shines brightly.
With deep respect and gratitude,
Namaste!

Embracing change with grace: Viniyoga® and Pregnancy
Interview with Evita du Bois, Netherlands
Pregnancy. It’s often spoken about as something that happens to a woman. And yes, it’s her body that changes, stretches, and expands. But what we sometimes forget is that this journey is not meant to be walked alone. Whether it’s a partner, a friend, a doula, or simply a loving support system, sharing the pregnancy emotionally, mentally, spiritually is essential. Not just for reducing the load, but to prepare for what’s coming: the arrival of a new life.
Evita du Bois knows this truth deeply. A longtime yoga teacher and mother of two, Evita shifted from the intense rhythm of Ashtanga to the breath-centred gentleness of Viniyoga when she became pregnant. What she discovered wasn’t just a more suitable physical practice but an entire approach to life and motherhood that embraced softness, presence, and connection.
In our interview, Evita reflects on how pregnancy transformed her not just physically, but completely. And it didn’t end with her. Inspired by her own experiences, she began guiding other women and couples through this life-altering chapter using Viniyoga and tools like HypnoBirthing.

One of her key insights?
Pregnancy may happen in one body, but it touches two hearts … or more. Partners play a vital role, and Evita makes space for them too. After all, birth doesn’t just bring a baby into the world, it births a new kind of family. And for many, it can be overwhelming or even traumatic. But it doesn’t have to be. With preparation, compassion, and support, it can become a powerful, joyful, and unifying experience. Yoga offers a way in. It helps reconnect to breath when fear creeps in. It supports a changing body. It invites both parents to slow down, tune in, and make space for something as big as transformation.
And here’s something important: yoga doesn’t begin when you see two lines on a test, nor does it end the moment the baby arrives. It’s a lifelong companion guiding through the full arc of this transformative journey: pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and far, far beyond. Whether it’s rebuilding strength, finding calm in chaos, or simply breathing through 3 a.m. feeding… yoga is right there with you.
Not pregnant? Not planning to be? Not your thing? That’s okay. Pregnancy or not, we’re all going through changes. Transformation doesn’t ask permission. And that’s why yoga concerns you too (sorry, no escape!). Because at its heart, yoga is about showing up with breath, with presence, with softness no matter what life is growing inside or around you.

His Master’s Voice | Patañjali's Yogasūtra
Audio blog by Dr. Kausthub Desikachar
Yogasūtra II.11 - dhyāna-heyāḥ-tad-vṛttayaḥ
However, when the sources of affliction are reappearing,
[When evident,] their activities must be reduced through meditative reflection.
Although Patañjali advises making them impotent whilst still subtle, we must not ignore the Kleśa-s when they are active and must choose any means of meditative reflection to weaken them. Some ways were suggested in the previous chapter, in aphorisms I.23, I.32 and I.33 to I.39, as well as the different components of Kriyā-yoga.

Holding Space!
The Quiet Revolution of Trauma-Informed Yoga!
An article by Dr Kausthub Desikachar, Ph D
“It’s not about how deep you go into a pose—it’s about how deeply you feel safe in it.”
In the peaceful quiet of a yoga studio, breath moves like ocean waves, bodies settle into shapes, and silence becomes sacred. But beneath that surface calm, some practitioners are navigating more than tight hamstrings—they’re working through trauma, held in breath, bones, and the nervous system.
Trauma-informed Yoga doesn’t look dramatically different on the outside. But on the inside, it’s an entirely different ecosystem—one grounded in choice, safety, and presence. It’s not about perfect alignment; it’s about fostering healing through agency.
Why Trauma-Informed Yoga Matters
Trauma isn’t just a memory—it’s a lived, somatic experience. It can manifest as hypervigilance, dissociation, shutdown, or discomfort with one’s body. While traditional Yoga aims to deepen flexibility or focus, trauma-informed Yoga aims to restore a sense of safety and belonging—one breath at a time.
The Teacher’s Role: More Anchor, Less Expert
In trauma-informed Yoga, the teacher’s job is not to lead from the front—but to hold space from within. The shift is subtle but powerful: less about correcting more about connecting. Less “Do this” and more “Here’s an option.”
Holding Space Means:
Neutrality: Avoid labelling movements or responses as good or bad.
Attunement: Be present with your students’ body language and energy.
Consent-first culture: Never assume touch is okay—ask clearly and respectfully.
Non-directive cues: Allow students to listen to their own bodies above your voice.
“Holding space doesn’t mean fixing—it means witnessing without judgment.”
Core Principles of Trauma-Informed Teaching
Trauma-informed Yoga integrates insights from neuroscience, psychology, and somatic therapy. These six foundational principles serve as guideposts for any teacher:
